Date Catch Report
15th - 22nd of November 2008 First week without guests and really cold weather, some rain, snow and strong winds. But some pleasant surprises for Ben and John. Please go to Ben's corner to see their catch. Tight lines!
8th - 15th of November 2008 Second week out of season and even if fishing gets slower it can still be good! Three anglers took us up on our winter fishing offer and they bivvied up around the lake. John and Ben fished a few hours as well. The tally for the week - 8 x 20's, 4 x 30's, 4 x 40's up to 49lb and 62lb - NEW LAKE RECORD! Shane had 4 fish - 21lb, 25lb, 46 1/4lb & 48 1/2lb. Mark, also 4 carp up to 34 1/2lb and Alan, three fish - 34 3/4lb, 45lb & 62lb. Ben landed five up to 38lb and John just one at 49lb. We are very pleased to let you know that for every 60lb carp landed but only if verified by us we give away a free weeks holiday at Etang des Royales in 2009!
1st - 8th of November 2008 This was the first week out of season and we did get a few guests trying to brave the cold weather and maybe to bank a few fish, why not? Charlie Snook managed to catch 4 carp up to 43 3/4lb. In total there were 17 fish landed out of 19 runs with 2 doubles, 6 x 20's, 3 x 30's and 5 x 40's up to 44 3/4lb.
25th of October - 1st of November 2008 "Once again fantastic week, and had the lake to myself. Result!!! Fishing, food and company as ever - top notch. You will struggle to beat this fishery for a complete package anywhere in France." Yes, indeed, just one angler - John Paul Graham - that visited us many times in the past two years. He managed 12 fish - 2 x doubles, 3 x twenties, 5 x thirties, 43 1/2lb common and 46lb mirror. John came with his wife and daughter of only one year and we've all had a good time!
18th - 25th of October 2008 Towards the end of the season we've had less people and this particular week, just three. Total runs - 18 and landed - 16 - four twenties, five thirties, six forties up to 48 1/4lb and a catfish of 80lb. Top rod of the week, Wayne, six fish, the biggest 41lb, followed by Trevor, two twenties, 44 1/2lb, 48 1/4lb and 80lb catfish. John banked three up to 43 1/2lb common and Ben a 46lb mirror.
11th - 18th of October 2008 Well into October and two parties came to our place, one of three and another of four. John and Ben had their chance as well and managed a few fish between them. In total, the weeks catch as follows - one double, 12 X 20's, 9 x 30's & 2 x 40's up to 48lb. But also there were 12 fish lost which meant a third of the runs, quite a lot!!! Two of the guests came with the wrong attitude and at the end of the week they got what they deserved! Unfortunately the fish had to suffer. Paul Stapp, one run, one lost. Peter, five runs, five lost. Ouch!!!
4th - 11th of October 2008 Exclusive booking by a group of eight people, fishing still slow. The tally for the week - 25 fish landed and 5 lost as follows - 2 doubles, 14 twenties, 5 thirties & 4 forties up to 48lb. The best catch of the week, Elliot Drew, with five fish up to 46 1/2lb.

Let's see what autumn brings!
August 2008 We decided to take a few weeks off, enjoy the sunny weather and just chill out. Give the fish a well deserved break as well after all these months. See you again in September!
19th - 26th of July 2008 End of July and the last week before we closed for summer holidays. Eight people fishing, three of them from the week before and all of them returning guests. 21st - 28th of June 2008 Last week in June and the hot weather has arrived! It was muggy, good and bad at the same time because it slowed down the fishing for the week hence only 28 fish caught out of 40 runs. We had a party of 9 anglers and they banked 5 doubles, 14 x 20's, 4 x 30's, 4 x 40's up to 46lb and one fifty - 50 3/4lb. Well done for their effort and the fact that they didn't give it up until the last moment!
14th - 21st of June 2008 We were more than pleased to see some fishermen bringing along their wifes. This time 9 people graced our big lake and out of 82 runs they managed 67 fish - 17 doubles, 19 twenties, 22 thirties, 8 forties up to 49 3/4lb and a 50 1/2lb. For everyone this was the first trip to our place and they seemed to have enjoyed it. The best angler of the week was Easty with 22 fish - " A top week at a top venue. 22 fish with a French PB of 46lb 1oz. Big thank you to John and Ben for all the help and advice. See you next year." We are very glad when we have new visitors as much as repeated guests. What matters is people having a good time and taking care of our fish.
10th - 17th of May 2008 Mid May and at our venue things got busier. We had seven people visiting us, some of them repeted guests. John and Ben put their effort in as well and all of them were able to land 104 fish out of 119 runs. The weather stayed warm, the fish seemed to have woken up and some of them started even spawning. 3rd - 10th of May 2008 Well, this was the beginning of a very good and rewarding week. 8 lads coming together, most of them have been here before and another little party of two. Plus, we did have a couple of anglers on the little lake fishing exclusively for catfish for a long week-end. The weather just started to turn with very hot days and fish feeding mainly at night. Most of the fish were caught in the margin area. In total they banked 62 carp - 18 doubles, 26 twenties, 11 thirties, 6 forties up to 47 1/4lb and a fifty - 51 1/2lb and of course 4 catfish - 2 x 25lb, 78lb and a stunning 86 3/4lb managed by John Paul. Well done to all of them!
26th April - 3rd of May 2008 Beginning of May marks our peak season and from now on the big lake is fully booked until October. But the weather hasn't improved, very hot week-end, after, Tuesday and Wednesday, cold nights and heavy rain chilling the water followed by very hot days again. We've had a big party of 10 people that booked the whole lake. In total they managed 52 fish - 18 doubles, 11 twenties, 15 thirties, 6 forties up to 47lb and two catfish up 72lb, all caught early in the week while the weather was still settled. Tony Burgin, one of our well known guests, had the best catch with 18 fish up to 42 3/4.

As we mentioned at the beginning the weather has been changing all the time, frosty start and rained all through the week.
5th - 12th of April 2008 April brought some "old" guests of ours who took along some new people to fish our venue. 4 anglers on the lake and 20 carp out plus 3 other caught by Ben. The tally for the week - 7 doubles, 5 twenties, 8 thirties, 44lb, 47lb and 51 1/2lb. A new PB for Mark and we were very pleased with his catch.
22nd - 29th of March 2008 As we said before, the beginning of a new season, all of us anxious as well as our guests. This particular week we've had 5 anglers on the big lake and a modest catch between them, only 12 fish - 2 x 18lb, 23lb, 24lb, 27lb, 28lb, 2 x 30lb, 31lb, 38lb, 41lb & 46lb. During the week we had some snow which of course slowed down the action.
Season 2008 Well, after a slower start and the weather being up and down with a lot of cold days in March and April, we could say our season has really begun! We would like to thank all our faithful guests that keep returning and love our fish and of course a warm welcome to all the new ones that want to give us a try. To all of you - TIGHT LINES!
